The challenge

Holistic platform - new territory for the real estate industry

Liiva is a joint venture between the financial services provider Raiffeisen and insurance company Mobiliar. The start-up, founded at the beginning of 2021, will offer comprehensive services for real estate owners with an end-to-end customer experience.

Searching, acquiring, maintaining, renovating, and selling: owning a property involves various complex, sometimes time-consuming challenges. Until now, the only solutions offered are for individual aspects of property management. A digital product that covers all areas from property search to sale did not yet exist.

Liiva wanted to close this gap with a holistic platform and to launch the product on the market as quickly as possible before the competition got to it first.

Our approach

Innovation Design Model

Merkle developed the IDM themselves to set up digital products methodically in the best way possible. It is based on three principles: collaborative development, research-based approach & goal orientation.

360-degree view

Our method has four components: the user experience (UX), agile project management (SCRUM as an executive framework), a roadmap to strategy and service blueprinting.

Scenario-based design

The Liiva platform is designed for a wide variety of users. Therefore, we pay special attention to clarity, user intuition and an appealing design, such as partly animated scenarios.

To launch the platform quickly, agilely and successfully, we focus on the users, Liiva's business goals and the technical requirements.

From property search to sale

One platform for everything

Liiva accompanies (prospective) property owners on their entire customer journey: starting with the search for a property, through the purchase of a flat or house and the maintenance up to the sale of the property. For example, the user can research suitable flats for the family or simply make an appointment with the craftsman to renovate the bathroom in the house.

The platform can also be used as an archive for all relevant real estate documents. For example, users can save purchase contracts or insurance policies in the Cockpit. With one click, it is then possible to access them at any time and from anywhere.

The excellent platform convinces at the BOSW Awards
The new Liiva platform not only scores points with potential property owners: The jury of Best of Swiss Web is also enthusiastic about the digital companion for the personal dream home. Together with Merkle, Liiva has won several of the coveted BOSW awards. We won the Best of Swiss Web Award in Silver in the User Experience category and the Award in Bronze in the Creation category. We were also nominated for the Master of Swiss Web and won third place.
