The challenge

Famigros is the family portal of Migros, the largest retailer in Switzerland. Expectant parents and families can find practical tips and inspiring ideas about pregnancy and family life.

Originating from our long-standing partnership with Migros, we are pleased to take over and manage the relaunch of Famigros in its entirety. The aim is to establish Famigros as a personal companion in the everyday life of families. The new portal should inspire, inform and stimulate the purchase of suitable products.

In addition to the technical implementation, the challenge is not only to migrate the content on the site, but also to optimise it in terms of added value, usability and filter options.

Our approach

For the implementation we choose the agile Scrum method

  • After a foundation phase with several design prints a rough concept is created. 
  • Then the technical implementation starts with a total of seven sprints.
  • In parallel, we further develop the concept and create user stories.
  • Starting with Sprint 3, the content migration started at the same time.

We worked with the content management system Magnolia, which is firmly anchored at Migros. This allows us to use and further develop components that have already been implemented.

The new portal convinces with a fresh and emotional design. The exciting content allows families easy access to excursions, recipes or handicraft instructions.

Search and find.

Searching and finding topics is much easier and more intuitive due to new filter functions.
Suitable ideas or products are dynamically offered on each page and create additional added value.
Users can display personalized content via a family profile.

New data processes convince.

Technically viewed there are new data processes: The administration of family data is easier and the membership conditions run automatically. In addition, linking Famigros with the Migros login and Cumulus creates a well-rounded Internet presence.
