Merkle Achieves AWS Data and Analytics Competency in 2022

With our innovative and outstanding work in Data and Analytics, Merkle is proud to announce our achievement of the AWS Data and Analytics Competency in 2022.

Step by step to the AWS Data and Analytics Competency

Data is at the heart of Merkle’s business, not just for our clients, but in everything we do as a company.  To that end, we have completed several projects directly related to data ingestion, cleansing and processing in the Cloud.

We are proud to say that these projects have not gone unnoticed and in 2022, Merkle was awarded the AWS Data and Analytics Competency for innovation and excellence in technical proficiency and proven success in helping customers evaluate and use the tools, techniques, and technologies of working with data productively, at any scale, to successfully achieve their data and analytics goals on AWS.

At first, we look to data

Merkle data is built to perform. We take an agnostic market position that grants us unfettered access to the entirety of the data marketplace. As a result, when we set out to build a data product, we start with the best inputs, regardless of source — screening hundreds of datasets and then combining them into market-leading solutions.

Merkle has been a pioneer in data transformation into actionable insights since our founding.  To date, we have successfully delivered over 200 projects globally ranging from data management and organizational change to more nuanced services such as Web Tracking, Customer Research & Insights, Data Strategy and BI / Visualization of Data.

We are invested in the future of data, not just because it is what clients demand, but because it is our future.  We are consistently using data to manage and upgrade our own processes to enhance efficient delivery and stay best in class when it comes to complex data topics.

The catalyst for the AWS Data and Analytics Competency

One of the primary examples that were able to catapult Merkle to achieve the AWS Data and Analytics Competency so quickly was our work at Ulysse Nardin.  Ulysse Nardin is a Swiss luxury watchmaking company founded in 1846 in Le Locle, Switzerland. The company became known in the nautical world for manufacturing highly accurate marine chronometers and complicated timepieces used by over fifty of the world's navies from the end of the 19th century till 1950.

Merkle took upon the challenge of containerizing the main technical components of Magento to build a fully cloud native CMS for the first time.  With short timelines and a constant need for increased innovation, Merkle was able to deliver a modern and complete Ecommerce content management system (CMS) platform on AWS.

AWS was particularly impressed with this particular use case and was awarded the AWS Data and Analytics Competency shortly after it was presented for consideration.  See the full use case here.
